Elizabeth and Sam

Elizabeth Doggett and Sam Davis celebrated their wedding day on April 7, 2012. Longing for a scenic countryside location, the couple selected Briar Patch Bed and Breakfast in Middleburg, VA as their venue.

The traditional bride and groom used shades of blue and white in the design scheme of their event. This included the flowers, bridesmaid dresses, and linens.  “We actually purchased the flowers online from Costco.  A bridesmaid then designed the bouquets, boutonnieres, and table decorations. The overall look was simple but pretty.  Flowers were paired with ivy and the Briar Patch's golden bird cages and hurricane lamps for the table decorations,” said Elizabeth.

The couple emphasized the importance of family and tradition in other aspects of the day as well.

“I wore my mother’s dark ivory wedding gown. It was so pretty- it was accented with lace applique and small faux pearls. We were also quite traditional with our menu choices. Legends Catering created a delicious and traditional meal of London Broil and mushroom parcel. The food was superb!  Legends made the mushroom parcel at my request, even though it isn't on their usual menu. We ended our meal with a traditional British fruit cake, handmade by the groom’s British parents!” said Elizabeth.

Following the wonderful meal, the guests were treated to an eclectic mix of music provided by the bride’s brother.

The elegant event turned out to be one that was both traditionally memorable and truly enjoyable!

Cheers to the happy couple, Elizabeth and Sam!
